DELO Increases Intensity of LED Area Lamps for Light-curing Adhesives
DELO Industrial Adhesives has increased the intensity of its LED area lamps for light-curing adhesives. The upgrade is now available for the 400 nm variants of DELOLUX 20 and DELOLUX 202. Thus, both lamps nearly double their intensity and now reach up to 600 mW/cm.Bonding is particularly efficient when it is integrated into industrial manufacturing. Whenever short cycle times and reliable mass production processes are required, light-curing adhesives come into play. The increased intensity of the 400 nm area lamps allows much faster curing of many adhesives, and opens up new application areas for light curing. Now when curing components made of certain plastics that are opaque, a higher intensity can reach the adhesive to cure it properly. The lamps’ higher output intensity enables greater working distances, without changing the lamp dimensions. Therefore, it is also possible to irradiate bonding areas in sleeves or deep holes, and flexibly integrate the lamps into fully automated production cells. The new lamp heads are readily operated with existing control units. Even if an application does not require the high power lamp, the customer can still benefit from an efficient energy output and therefore a longer operating lifetime.“An increased intensity has numerous advantages. However, we developed these lamps to also irradiate bonding areas evenly. This aspect is often neglected, although it is a precondition for reliable adhesive curing”, says Robert Saller, Director Sales International at DELO.
